Chromate conversion coatings are produced on various metals by immersion or electrochemical treatment with chromates along with other chemicals. These coatings provide exceptionally good corrosion resistance, depending upon the composition of chemicals and the film thickness. Additionally chromating brightens zinc and cadmimum electrodeposits and also improves paint bonding. Chromatising on zinc deposits produces different coloured finishes from clear blue bright, yellow irridescent, black and olive green which have different corrosion resistant properties.
Ginthox Q 550 produces a clear chromate film on zinc plated parts. Brightens zinc deposits and provides increased corrosion resistance.Ginthox Q 558 produces brilliant blue bright chromate conversion coating on zinc electrodeposits and provides excellent corrosion resistance. Especially designed for automatic plating plants. Trichrome 1000 is an excellent trivalent chromium based blue passivation process for zinc deposits. There is a considerable reduction in waste water treatment cost compared to hexavalent chromium process.
Ginthox 982 L is specially recommended for irridiscent conversion coating at very low concentration on zinc or cadmium electrodeposits. It operates at very low concentration and hence highly economical. Ginthox 995 produces a bright, yellow iridescent coating on chloride zinc plate without use of nitric acid. Coating offers high corrosion resistance and excellent base for paint and other organic finishes. Ginthox 996 produces a golden yellow chromate conversion coating on zinc, zinc-cobalt alloys. This coating offers high corrosion resistance and also serves as an excellent base for paint and other organic finishes.
Ginthox ZB 992 is a jet black chromate coating on zinc plate using a single dip immersion process. Ravenox ZB 993 is an Improved Jet black chromate coating on zinc plating, it provides more than 50 hours in standard salt spray test. (ASTM B117) without white corrosion. Especially designed for plants for high production.
Zincafix Olive 952/953/958 is specially designed to produce dark olive green chromate conversion coatings both on chloride,sulphate and cyanide zinc electrodeposits. It is suitable both for barrel and rack operation and affords very high corrosion resistance of over 120 hours in the salt spray test. It can be used both for manual and automatic operation and offers very high corrosion resistance. It is specially recommended for continuous electrogalvanising plants. Cadfix Olive 955 produces olive drab chromate conversion coating for cadmium deposits. The coating offers very high corrosion resistance and is suitable for electronic, military and aerospace applications.
